Fabulous Flowers: Pink, Gold and Glowing

Posted by

I really needed some perking up this month. The last month has been a truly tough one. In late June, my father in law passed very unexpectedly.  He has been in my life since I was only 17 and I miss him.  My husband's family has been rocked to their core and we have all just been reeling.

I felt like I needed a creative outlet and flowers have always made me happy.  So when I decided to do a little creative therapy I went after my new favorite trendy look....pink and gold.

Did you know I am a jeans, Birkenstocks and very little make up kind of girl?  Well, I am but when it comes to this look I felt seriously girly and it was a fun change.

Here's how I started....

Hobby Lobby.  I know, I know.  Not fair trade, all imported but when you are looking for current trends on the cheap that's where you go.

Luckily all the vases and candle holders were 50% off so the total for all the glass was under $15.  I bought 3 bouquets from Trader Joe's for a total of $16.

I already had the candles and candle holder and the Easy Arranger 4" (2) and the NEW candle feature Easy Arranger. You can click HERE to see those.

Here are the photo steps to PINK, GOLD AND GLOWING!

This is shown on a clear bowl.  I also tried it with a gold bowl you can see in later picture.  I just put the candle or holder in the bottom of the bowl and put the Easy Arranger Candle Glow over the whole thing.  It measure just under 9 inches in diameter and the center hole is about 4 inches.

Start with cutting all the flowers down to really short stems.  Add the heaviest and largest flowers first.

After this shot, I transferred the whole flower arrangement onto the gold bowl below and added three left over flowers to the extra vases with 4" Easy Arrangers on top.  The Easy Arrangers hold those few stems in place so they look better.

You can use the same arrangement with a pillar too.

These flowers would be great for a dinner party or an evening cocktail party.  Or just to brighten and cheer up anyone, including me.

How do you cheer yourself up?  I would love to hear.
